Supporting a Child with ADHD Calm Down and Concentrate

Having a child with ADHD can be slightly exigent for parents because of the personality of the disorder. Encourage your child to express themselves through artwork so that their hyperactivity can be channeled to something creative and beneficial to them. Making art is a great therapy as well, and is quite successful in revealing your child’s thoughts and emotions through creative means. When your child enjoys producing painting, just support it by giving him or her contact to art materials as well as encouraging your child to have an art box where he or she can organize the art materials appropriately.

Touch therapy can also help in terms of settling down your hyperactive child.

Children with ADHD are very open to touch and can eagerly be relaxed by it.

At home, you can also keep your spaces clean and uncluttered to make it more advantageous to your child’s state of mind. It’s good to paint your child’s room in silent and soothing colors like a soft tone of pink, green, or blue than in pulsating primary colors. Play therapy may also help your child focus his or her energies on more valuable pastime. It doesn’t just help your child but it also facilitates you recognize what things you can do to support your child’s therapy; play therapists will frequently ask parents to sit in therapy sessions so that they can learn what amusements they can do together at home. Therapists can also teach parents or guardians several specialized games that are built around teaching your child to impediment challenges in concentrating.
